VEO CAMERA
INTRODUCTION & PARTNERSHIP
The Bay of Plenty Rugby Union and VEO have partnered to provide our community rugby sport opportunities to trial the use of the VEO Camera technology as an educational and training tool for recording, analysing and using video footage to to improve your team's performance.
The uniqueness of VEO Camera technology is that this hardware DOESN'T require a camera operator. As you can see from the image, a VEO camra has two (2) cameras contained inside its case. The recording is a wide angle 180 degree view.
However, the magic happens in VEO's cloud based servers, where all of the footage is uploaded and stored. VEO's proprietary AI software converts the 180 degree wide angled footage, into a single view camera angle that looks like the camera is simply following the action.
HOW DOES THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN BOPRU AND VEO WORK?
The Bay of Plenty Rugby Union is acting as an ambassador for Veo. We are using the camera's for developing our representative players and match officials as well as allowing our clubs and schools to borrow the camera's. If a club or a school likes the camera, they can then contact Veo direct and make a purchase of the hardware and a monthly licence to use their software. As a partnership, the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union receives a small Veo credit and the club or school receives a discount on the recommended retail price.
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE, WHERE DO I GO TO FIND OUT MORE INFORMATION?
For more information about Veo and their camera, click here.
Or, if you'd like to book a call from the Veo experts, click here.
Bay of Plenty Clubs and schools can now book the camera to trial and use and gain a better understanding of how they work, with the view that if they like what they find, they return to our website and using our unique discount code, can click through to the VEO site to purchase their own. This opportunity is only for a small amount of usage. (2 times maximum)
Thanks to our ongoing partnership with VEO, we now have FIVE (5) cameras available to be booked out for use:
2 for Western Bay CLubs and Schools
1 each for Central and Eastern Bay clubs and schools
1 for the Bay of Plenty Rugby Referees Club.
After that, we strongly recommend that if your team wishes to use a camera, you speak to your club or school with the view of purchasing your own. We can assist with funding opportunities and suggestions.
STEP 1: Below is a calendar of the camera's and their bookings. Firstly, check to see if a camera is free on the day you wish to borrow it.
STEP 2: If one of the cameras is available, complete the Veo Camera Booking Form below (select a pickup time)
STEP 3: Once you've submitted the booking form a Bay of Plenty Rugby representative will be in touch to arrange logistics.
CAN I BOOK A CAMERA FOR MULTIPLE GAMES?
The purpose of this booking system is to allow clubs and schools to trial the equipment. It's not designed to allow clubs and schools to book the camera to film multiple matches for the teams across multiple weekends. It would be unfair to allow one club or school to book a camera multiple times. If a club or school finds the camera a valuable tool for developing their players, they should seriously consider purchasing their own using our unique discount code.
CAN I BOOK A CAMERA TO FILM A TRAINING SESSION?
The proprietary artificial intelligence software is currently learning rugby through more and more rugby games. At this stage, it's only capable of filming games at a good quality level, as opposed to trainings.
CAN I VIEW EXAMPLES OF THE CAMERA IN ACTION?
Yes, simply click here to view some games that have been recorded using Bay of Plenty Rugby's Veo cameras - a range of grades, locations and weather conditions!
I'M READY TO BUY A CAMERA, HOW DO I DO THAT?
Go to the VEO website, find the camera, tripod, and subscription plan you want, complete the online purchase form and in the DISCOUNT CODE, type, " bayofplenty " to receive a 100 euro discount on the recommended retail price of the camera.
