Bay of Plenty Rugby Announces partnership with The Coaching Gig and IntaSport Ltd

The Bay of Plenty Rugby Union is pleased to announce the signing of a new partnership with The Coaching Gig and IntaSport for the 2023 junior club rugby season.

General Manager Community Rugby Pat Rae comments, “I’m extremely excited about joining forces with Kyle McLean, The
Coaching Gig and IntaSport to support the development of our Small Blacks junior club rugby coaches across the region. Dan Goodwin, our hard-working Coach Development Manager is leaving us at the end of March and Kyle is stepping in on a short-term basis to support our junior coaches while we look for Dan’s replacement. Dan will be sorely missed as he did some great things and set up some exciting pathways for community coaches that we will most definitely be building on.”

Kyle McLean comments, “I’m excited to work with Coach Developers in clubs to deliver the Small Blacks course. This is an opportunity for local club coaching legends to lead their own people, deliver an engaging, relevant Small Blacks course, while also bringing their own club vibe. We hope that by extending the number of Coach Developers throughout the region’s clubs, our junior coaches across the region will have increasing access to support and mentoring during the season.

Rae continues, “What I’m especially excited about is the new, “IntaSport App” that Kyle and his team have developed especially for junior club coaches. Our partnership now makes this app free to all Bay of Plenty Rugby junior club coaches.”

McLean continues, “What I’ve learned over my years of working in the coaching space is that there is an ever-increasing demand for time-poor volunteer Junior Coaches to access digital content quickly and easily. It is great to partner with an innovative, forward-thinking provincial union like Bay of Plenty Rugby to launch the IntaSport App throughout Bay of Plenty Junior Rugby.”

McLean continues, “The IntaSport App aims to be the all-in-one Sports App to help volunteer Junior Coaches survive and thrive and keep parents informed and on the journey. It is free and coaches will have access to coaching videos, quick plans, information and the ability to manage communication with parents – messaging, schedules, RSVP’s, and reminders. It’s been made by coaches for coaches.”
