RUGBY DIRECTOR
Nomination for the position of Rugby Director
All applicants or nominees for positions on the Bay of Plenty Rugby (BOPRU) Board will be assessed against the skills and competencies framework by the appointments panel. Each prospective Board member must be able to demonstrate that they have the passion to advance the interests of rugby in Bay of Plenty, and the knowledge and ability to be able to do so.

Prospective Board members must be able to demonstrate that they can think and act independently. This means, for example, that they must be able to demonstrate that, following election or appointment, they would have no direct or indirect interest or relationship that could reasonably influence, in a material way, their decisions as a member of the BOPRU Board. We are looking for multiple Junior Rugby Activators to help us run our new “Girl Code” (9-13 yrs) and “Secondary Schools Explore” (14-15 yrs) programmes we are running across the Bay of Plenty this year.
These are casual roles with the successful candidates required to travel to primary, intermediate, and secondary schools and deliver sessions both after school at various venues and at school holiday programmes.
Girl Code and Secondary Schools Explore are new initiatives designed to engage and interact with more girls and young women through a formalised in and out of school programme. The purpose of the programme is to give them the opportunity to increase their physical activity through games using rugby equipment. The purpose of this position is to implement these programmes across the Bay of Plenty region commencing in 2022 in our Primary, intermediate, and secondary schools.
