History

This award was instigated in 2021 by Referee Manager at the time, Cameron Russell, and RMG Chairman, David Hodgson. As a volunteer organisation, they wanted to establish an award that recognised members that best encompass what it means to be committed to building the Club, through whatever way they contribute.

As a proud and dedicated member of Bay of Plenty Referees, passionate about building our club, David Hodgson offered to donate the trophy.

David’s involvement with Bay of Plenty Referees began in 2004. He has been Chairman of the RMG since 2015.
