Baywide Womens Club Rugby
The Club Working Group (as set out in schedule 4 of the BOPRU Constitution) is responsible for formulating the senior mens and womens competitions to be played in the Bay of Plenty region.
For the 2024 season, there are 13 clubs that have entered teams into the Womens Rugby competition. The top Five (5) clubs have been determined by the table rankings of the 2023 Premier Womens competition.
PREMIERSHIP DIVISION
- Mount Maunganui Sports
- Rangataua
- Ruatoki
- Poroporo
- Tongariro United
The Premiership division will play a 2 round, 8-week home and away competition starting Sunday 7th April 2024 and finishing Sunday 9th June 2024. (NB: week 4 of round 2 will be played the weekend of KINGS BIRTHDAY (Sunday 2 June 2024))
The top four (4) teams will contest the playoffs:
Semi Finals: Sunday 16 June 2024: (Higher ranked team to host)
- 1v4
- 2v3
Final: Sunday 23 June 2024 (Highest ranked winner to host)
Winner SF1 v Winner SF2.
CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION
The remaining eight (8) teams will participate in a new "Champiopnship" division.

- Te Puna
The Championship division will play a 1 round, 7-week home and away competition starting Sunday 7th April 2024 and finishing Sunday 19th May 2024.
The top six (6) teams will contest the playoffs:
Quarter Finals: Sunday 26th May 2024

- 2v5
- 3v4
There will be no play on KINGS BIRTHDAY weekend 2nd June 2024.
Semi Finals: Sunday 9 June 2024:
- Highest Ranked QF Winner v Highest Ranked QF Loser
- 2nd Highest QF Winner v 3rd Highest Ranked Winner
Final: Sunday 16 June 2024 (Highest ranked winner to host)
Winner Highest Ranked SF Winner v 2nd Highest SF Winner.
