Partnership Agreement with SHIZUOKA BlueRevs


Bay of Plenty Rugby Union is delighted to announce that we have contracted the partnership agreement with SHIZUOKA BlueRevs. 

The background of our partnership agreement *Summary

  • YAMAHA Motor. Jubilo and BAY OF PLENTY RUGBY UNION (BOP) have cooperated and developed friendly relationship for many years.
    • Conducted BOP Tour and held international friendly match with BOP
    • Sent players sent and belong to BOP
    • Players and Staffs who used to belong to BOP joined YAMAHA Jubilo in the past
  • After for a while, activities between us were limited due to Covid-19. However, we could visit BOP in October, 2022 finally. It was the first visit as SHIZUOKA BlueRevs. We had meeting with CEO Mr. Mike Rogers and BOP staffs.
  • We agreed with BOP that we contract partnership agreement and make further strong relationship from now on.

 

 Activities of partnership agreement *Summary

  • To dispatch players and coaches who belong to each party’s team to the other party
  • To conduct a practice rugby match and international exhibition rugby match
  • To conduct joint training
  • Another items requested by the Party

Shizuoka Blue Revs are a rugby union team based in Iwata, Shizuoka, Japan. The team came second behind Toshiba Brave Lupus in the second season of Japanese rugby's Top League (2004–05). They were coached by former All Black Grant Batty and Fijian player-coach Tabai Matson. Founded in 1984, its name was "Yamaha Motors Rugby Football Club". The team rebranded as the Shizuoka Blue Revs ahead of the rebranding of the Top League to the Japan Rugby League One in 2022.
