BAYWIDE SENIOR CLUB SEVENS

2024 Baywide Senior Club Sevens Tournament

2024 Baywide Senior Club Sevens Tournament Entries NOW OPEN

On Wednesday 18th September, the Mount Maunganui Sports Rugby Club hosted a celebration for the Black Ferns Sevens Olmpic champions.  Stan Walker headlined the show and even though the wind didn’t play nice, it was amazing to share the wonderful occasion with our local heros.  Off the back of this celebration, the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union is proud to announce this seasons Baywide Secondary School and Senior Club Sevens tournaments now open for teams to enter.

Both tournaments will be held at Greerton Park Oropi, with the 2024 Baywide Secondary Schools Sevens running on Wednesday 30th October and the Baywide Senior Club Sevens being run on Saturday 2nd November 2024 at the same venue.

We’ve chosen Greerton Marist as the venue for both tournaments because it has four fields and also to share our community activity right across the region.  This years youth development cup was held in Whakatane, the Secondary Schools finals day was held in Rotorua, so it is only appropriate to host our 3rd major community event (2 x 7’s tournaments) in Tauranga.

The 2024 Baywide Senior Club Sevens tournament will have the following grades:

  1. Premiers Mens
  2. Premier Womens
  3. Te Mana Whenua Mens
  4. Te Mana Whenua Womens
  5. Tight 5 Mens
  6. Tight 5 Womens
  7. U18 Boys
  8. U18 Girls

We’ve included the U18 Boys and Girls divisions in the Baywide Senior Club Sevens because we are not running a Baywide Youth Club Sevens tournament this year.  We are still keen to create a connection for our school leavers with their senior club and feel this is the best way to do this.

Again, entries are strictly limited to a minimum of 4 teams and maximum of 8 per grade.

To enter, a club representative with a valid credit card must complete the Baywide Senior Club Online Registration Form below and pay at the entry fee before 5.00pm on Friday 25th October 2024.  The draw will be produced for release on Tuesday 29th October.  Teams that withdraw after the draw is released will NOT be refunded.  Entry fee is $172.50 per team including GST.
